Key Biscayne, Florida, USA; completion 2016 These proposed two-family homes are located in the prestigious Fernwood Road area in Key Biscayne Island, Florida. They are double volume structural cubes which are suspended on stilts, accommodating a wetland which serves as a home recreation pool and terrace for each home. The upper floors are the social areas and bedrooms. The design takes into account the tropical weather of the region in all its variables. The extended metal shutters on the walls provide both shade and protection from temperature change. The windows are also a projection of the visual environment. The parts of their design that extend outside are not only aesthetic but functional, because they avoid the overlooking of each home.
