Calera House

La Calera, Cundinamarca, Colombia; 2013

This untouched location is the perfect site for a human refuge. Located at 3,200 meters above sea level, the surrounding vegetation is defined by an environment called “paramo”. This means the diverse forms of the surrounding vegetation have been influenced by an extremely cold climate. The house is used to shelter its inhabitants from such extreme weather while remaining in harmony with the environment. The house was the perfect location for a spa and its installation has provided its inhabitants with the ideal place for mental and physical relaxation.
